Fundraising for the new gym began in February 2008 with a sponsored darts tournament, and collection in Abingdon
In April 2008 followed a sponsored press-up session. In July 2008 followed the Play2give football tournament, and a fete on Abingdon Market Place.
In May 2009 the boxing club held a very successful show and auction at the guildhall in Abindgon. Visiting teams came from far and wide but the best performance of the night was given to one local lad
The Club is putting together a business plan to show that there is a need for such a building, and to demonstrate how it will be run for the club and community. They not only need the help of funds, but expertise of all sorts to make it happen.
So far about £14,000 has been raised through the clubs own efforts, and with thanks to Play2give.
